Stovetop Steak Improvisation
It’s not complicated to make a steak on your stovetop for a quick weekday dinner. I like to use a grass-fed NY strip, but you can pick your favorite cut. Just be sure to heat the skillet enough so that the steak is nicely seared.
- Mix some dried herbs, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. I like oregano, thyme, and rosemary. Ground fennel is a nice touch too.
- Trim fat from steak and rub herbs liberally on top and bottom.
- Heat oil in skillet, medium high.
- Cook steak on one side until nice and brown, then turn once and cook until done the way you like it.
- Let steak sit for about 5 minutes, loosely tented with foil.
- Slice and enjoy!
Great served with salad or any veggies.
